Mission & History
A&B Engineering Consultants was founded to bring clarity, accuracy, and professionalism to one of the most confusing parts of any remodel, ADU, or new construction project — the utility approval process. Homeowners, contractors, and developers across the Bay Area often face delays, inconsistent communication, and repeated resubmissions when working with PGE, Silicon Valley Power, or Palo Alto Utilities.
After years of seeing projects stall due to preventable utility issues, our team set out to create a consulting service that bridges the gap between customers and utility companies. We built A&B around one core belief: when the utility process is managed correctly the first time, projects move forward without stress, confusion, or costly delays.
From added electrical loads to full-service panel upgrades, we specialize in guiding clients through every step of the application, review, and approval process.
